Abstract

This research paper explores Yuca. ⁤⁤Yuca, also known as cassava, is a hardy perennial shrub that can grow in various tropical and subtropical climates. ⁤⁤Yuca is a resilient and versatile solution amidst rising challenges such as food insecurity and climate change. ⁤⁤Despite advancements in technology and efforts made by regional and international government bodies, food insecurity prevails. ⁤⁤With 691 and 783 million people worldwide facing hunger in 2022, an increase of 122 million since 2019, there is a dire need for a governmental or agricultural solution. ⁤⁤Yuca's role in persisting in climate change adaptation in underprivileged and nutrient-deficient countries demonstrates its potent role as a food that can feed the people who lack nutrition and are food insecure. ⁤⁤Yuca's robust ability to withstand drought and poor soils makes it an invaluable crop for countries in the African region. ⁤⁤Economically, Yuca is an affordable food to harvest and brings many jobs and money to the farmers in the African regions. ⁤⁤While Yuca provides sufficient macronutrients, it is essential to consider its lack of micro nutritional content. ⁤⁤As global warming becomes more severe, Yuca emerges as a sustainable strategy for the international community.
